Dogwoods Jason Ammerman, Matthew Jackson, and Tony Brewer performed, along with an amazing list of poets and wordslingers from Indianapolis, at the Melody Inn on Wed, March 3. Jason organized the show, The Molotov Tea Party Spoken Word/Poetry Revue. Not only was it a packed house for an awesome show, Tony and Jason were reunited with DJ Shiva, who was once a team member on the Pie Cutters, the Bloomington Poetry Slam team that competed in the Midwest Poetry Slam League tournament in 2004-2005.

They then facilitated a workshop of some of the students’ work.

Thanks again to Dr. Willis for the opportunity!

Hi Poets and Writers,

As I mentioned at the poetry reading on the first Monday of January, I am teaching a Poetry Writing class W208/303 this spring on Mondays at IUPUC, 3-5:40 PM in room CL 2211 (the Learning Center).

I know my students (10 or so) would learn a lot by listening  to you read your poetry and hearing about your most important experiences in the poetry world.  For those of you who actively teach or perform in the  world of poetry, you may list this invitation on your resume or CV as an  invited reading, teaching, or college lecture event.

I have set a tentative schedule of the days open for you.  Please let me know when you can teach the art of poetry to my students.  Mathew J and Tony, could you attend on March 1, so that we could maybe attend a local reading after the class?   I would really like you two to come together  on one Monday.

February 8

March 1                Matthew J and Tony  (tentative, if you can make it)

March 29

April 12

Katherine (Kathy) V. Wills, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of English
